SLX using discriminatory language?

Stryker sent this to me this morning. I can barely believe I'm reading this.

At the adult content disclaimer page of XStreetSL, located here, https://uncensored.xstreetsl.com/UncensoredDisclaimer.php
is stated the following:

WARNING/DISCLAIMER

You are about to be redirected to Xstreet SL Uncensored.
The adult content within this site is intended for ADULTS ONLY (18 years of age or older). If you are not of legal age or do not wish to view materials of a sexually-explicit nature or you are offended by transgender images or topics, then please click CANCEL now. If you continue on to view any adult content within this website, you are stating the following:

1. I am an adult over the age of 18 years.

2. I will not allow anyone under the legal age, stated in 1. above, to access any of materials labelled Mature.

3. I am viewing mature content of this site willingly and I understand that by doing so I will be exposed to materials of a sexually-explicit nature.

This appears to me to mean that transgnder images are somehow inherently disturbing or offensive. I think this is discriminatory. If you agree, please go vote for the following JIRA:
http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/XSL-17

You'll have to log on using your SL username and password, and then click on Vote in the left column. If enough of us do this, LL will get the message and change it. Thank you.

Just adding the XStreet SL forum thread link where you may also comment and participate in the discussion.

Another update:

I've just posted notices to Second Pride Festival Group 2009, Second Pride Festival, Amnesty International-E and Four Bridges groups. I'll search out the transgender groups today and pass the notecard on to as many as I can get through to in order that we may mobilize as many as we can to vote on the jira.

Peace,
Keo

I'm not sure, but I beleive this was first sent to us by Gamma Infinity from Amnesty, I don't know if he had posted a notice already though..

I commented on the JIRA, and thanks for posting the forum link too.

UPDATE!

Patsy Linden has responded on the XStreet forum with the following:

Hey All,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We are looking into it right now and will have a response in the next few days.

Patsy Linden

At least it looks like they're paying attention for a change!

Peace,
Keo

The issue has been resolved and the offending language removed from the disclaimer. Thanks to all who voted on the jira and/or participated in the XStreet SL discussion. The jira issue has been closed and the XStreet SL thread locked. The following is quoted from the XStreet SL General Discussion forum.

[13:06] Infinity Linden: dude. not sure i understand your jira comment. are you talking about the disclaimer page or about our adults only initiatives in general?

The disclaimer page is the item in question I was mentioning the general adult words as Transgender and transexual are not in the list we test often. I cannot see why LL cannot just change the disclaimer it will save a lot of mess as it is getting extensive coverage now and emails I sent this morning to various Californian organisations are getting read now as I get the receipts back. It would good if LL change it today IMHO

[13:33] Infinity Linden: because if we change it to something else that someone else finds offensive, we'll have to do it all oer again
[13:33] Infinity Linden: if we actually get feedback from the community, there's less likelihood this will be the case

I disagree 100% there have you looked at our disclaimer at http://www.slapt.me as that is a good working disclaimer Your problems are the fact you single out the transgender community with it as it stands and I know for a fact there have been a lot of press etc alerted over this LL could just remove that word and replace it with sexually explicit topics or images.

[13:41] Infinity Linden: no. we would not replace the disclaimer with sexually explicit images.

I mean reword it to read "If you are not of legal age or do not wish to view materials of a sexually-explicit nature or you are offended by sexually explicit images or topics, then please click CANCEL now." instead of "If you are not of legal age or do not wish to view materials of a sexually-explicit nature or you are offended by Transgender images or topics, then please click CANCEL now." You are welcome on the disclaimer but seriously I know several outside parties now following this with interest so don't delay is my advice to LL

[13:43] Infinity Linden: the fact of the matter is, we messed up. we have to fix it now. we have a process for fixing it that emerged the last time we messed up. abandoning that process isn't going to fix the problem. and in fact, it might reduce the likelihood of more problems in the future
[13:44] Infinity Linden: (thanks for offering your disclaimer for review, though. lemme forward it to the peeps who will be writing our new disclaimer.)

[13:51] Infinity Linden: i'm totally in agreemtn

Then make it happen, you can remove the word Transgender and the problem is sorted in one very quick edit and everyone is happy
